Pierpont

Pierpont, South Dakota, is home to about 135 passionate residents and several businesses.

The town's investment in its parks is fantastic, including a playground with slides, swings, wooden train, and more, a baseball park with a competitive adult summer league, two basketball courts, and a picnic shelter. Pierpont Lake Recreation Area is also a popular gathering place near town.

Pierpont's business community features PONT's Pub & Grill, CorTrust Bank, U.S. Postal Service, Pierpont Supply & Service, Louie's Auto Sales, Tople Seeds, Holler Farms, Full Circle Ag, Better Roots Farm, Winnetou Productions, and more.

Pierpont's young people are educated at Langford Area School, located just a few miles north of town. Career and housing opportunities are available at daycountyjobs.com.

Discover the possibilities of this community located just seven miles north of U.S. Highway 12 on SD-27.

Results of Sparking Ideas Into Action Gathering

We were glad to see so many friendly faces at the first-ever Sparking Ideas Into Action gathering on April 18! We created an agenda based on ideas, questions, and possibilities that were important to attendees from across Day County and the region. We met in small groups, then came together as a large group to share highlights.

Groups were formed by several attendees:
  • Starting a health and wellness committee in Day County
  • Hosting a meeting for archers in May
  • Funding for housing development
  • Host a business information session
  • Day County Recycling
  • Fine Arts
You are invited to join us as we dig deeper into these interests. Joe, Paula & Jamie (our community coaches) will be back in 2018 to help teams work through challenges or provide other valuable insight as they move forward.

To get connected, or for more general information, contact Melissa at 345-3159 (office), 265-1675 (call/text) or email.
