Location & Community

Day County is located in the Northeastern corner of South Dakota, just minutes away from the boundaries of both North Dakota and Minnesota. We are in the heart of the Glacial Lakes, also known as the Coteau Des Prairies - "hills of the prairies." Here, the rolling hills and grasslands embrace the shores of dozens of beautiful lakes. Thus, creating an abundance of excellent recreation areas and productive wildlife habitat.

Each year, thousands of hunters and fisherman flock to Day County to enjoy the abundant wildlife and fisheries Day County has to offer. With incredible numbers of pheasants, deer, waterfowl and incredible lakes full of walleyes, perch, northern pike, large and small mouth bass, Day County is truly a Sportsman's Paradise!

Webster is located along four-lane U.S. Hwy 12 and is only 23 miles from I-29. U.S. Hwy 25 also intersects Webster, so highway access is ideal here in our area.

With traffic counts in excess of 2,500 vehicles per day, Highway 12 is the most used non-Interstate highway in South Dakota.

Webster has a 3,700 ft. paved and lighted airport located conveniently one mile south of city limits. Details are located on chart below.
